Trophy Wife

The reason why I wanted to create this blog is simple: my other blog was too personal.
I went back and read my blog entries from 3, 4 years ago and even I was overwhelmed with how personal I was.
So, I decided to hide that blog and create another one.
One that's a little bit more personal than this blog.

How did I come up with the name "The Perks of Being a Trophy Wife"?

Well, that's also a simple answer:
I was thinking about writing a post on my previous blog entitled "The Perks of Being a Trophy Wife," and then I just decided (since I wanted a new blog) that I'll just...use that same name.
I'm a very simple person.
I am also, contrary to the implications of this blog, not a trophy wife.

I'm probably going to talk about the exact opposite of the Perks of Being a Trophy Wife.
I love being a woman, but I hate what "being a woman" is often defined in our society as (looks, looks, sexual abilities and looks).
So many women in so many third world countries would love to have access to education, freedom of speech and independence, and a lot of us squander what we have.
When I see women create a space for themselves to be objectified- I'm saddened.

THIS is what I'm going to write about. Not how upset I am with some women, but women stuff in general. And, occasionally, I will write about myself. It is my blog after all.
But I enjoy sarcasm. So, just bear with me.

I'm going to leave you with this very powerful video about seeing your beauty. I was smacked in the face with sadness after I watched this, because it's so true. We value appearance so much, but we don't even understand or ACCEPT our own beauty. We always try to change ourselves. We are so hard on ourselves. We forget that beauty radiates from the inside out. We forget that we are wonderfully made.
We see the wrong things when we look at a mirror. We get so distracted by our flaws, by the wrong things, it's no wonder it's so easy to be shallow.

Tootles, hugs and kisses.
